Are You Ready To Take the Challange?

Bio

I am Katie Winther, a counselor, case manager, and group facilitator at New Life Recovery. I bring structure, clarity, and a solutions-driven mindset to every client I serve. I graduated from CCAPP Academy with straight A’s, and I continue advancing my education because the more I learn, the more effectively I can support clients with insight, accuracy, and genuine care.

I’ve been with New Life Recovery since opening day in October 2024, and helping build this program from the ground up remains one of the proudest achievements of my career. I’ve watched our team transform into a cohesive, disciplined, and compassionate community, one rooted in accountability, integrity, and truly client centered care. Being part of a team that leads with both skill and heart is something I value deeply.

My daily work consists of  individualized counseling, comprehensive case management, relapse-prevention planning, and facilitating dynamic, high-impact groups. I specialize in Seeking Safety and art-based therapeutic interventions and hold a certification in Art Therapy for Emotional Healing. My approach blends creativity with structured, trauma-informed practices, helping clients regulate emotions, build coping strategies, and lay the foundation for long-term stability. I focus on giving clients practical tools they can use immediately, tools that promote confidence, consistency, and hope.

As an integral member of the clinical team, I work closely with our medical staff to ensure every client receives coordinated, individualized support. I’m known for my precise, high-standard documentation; my ability to translate assessment data into clear, actionable treatment goals; and my skill in producing accurate, comprehensive ASAM-aligned Utilization Reviews. My work keeps clients engaged, accountable, and consistently moving forward in their recovery.

What drives me is witnessing the shift when a client begins to believe in themselves again. Recovery asks people to rebuild from some of their hardest moments, and it’s a privilege to walk alongside them. My purpose is straightforward: provide clear direction, create space for real growth, and support clients as they rebuild their lives with intention, courage, and hope for a new life at New Life Recovery.
